MIAMI (AP) -- "The moon and eight of the planets will be lined up in the sky this week "like pearls on a string" in a sight that won't be visible again from Earth for at least another century.
"Beginning Monday night and continuing through December 8, the planets will appear in the southwestern sky in a line slanting upward from the horizon. From west to east, Pluto will be followed by Mercury, Mars, Venus, Neptune, Uranus, Jupiter and Saturn, with a crescent moon alongside.
"He said the planets will be similarly aligned in May 2000, but they will be so close to the sun that they won't all be visible from Earth. Horkheimer said a computer analysis showed it will be at least another 100 years before so many planets will be so close and so visible."
"As twilight falls each evening in early December, look south for the Moon. From the 1st through the 8th it makes its way past a long diagonal line of planets. On the 1st the thin waxing crescent stands above and to the right of Mercury, which is almost down on the horizon (try binoculars). On the 2nd and 3rd the Moon passes faint Mars and brilliant Venus. By the 4th the Moon, now a thick crescent, is off to the right of bright Jupiter. Four nights later, on the 8th, the now-gibbous Moon is very near Saturn. Also in the line, but too faint to see without binoculars or a telescope, are Uranus and Neptune."

This line of planets is "pointing" to Libra. See " The Witness of the Stars: Libra."
Shoemaker-Levy 9 colides with Jupiter July 16, 1994. This, too, was called a string of pearls.
"The Two Babylons" contains a lot of information on Jupiter "the father of the gods," "who was worshipped in the very same characer as Ninus, 'the child,'" and how the Pope is considered the great "Jupiter Tonans of the Papacy" who has his clergy "bring down the fire from heaven," etc.
Another interesting thing regarding Jupiter is that the "abomination of desolation" of Daniel was when Antiochus Epiphanes erected an altar of Jupiter in the Temple and offered a sow in sacrifice. See Antichrist.
On May 5, 2000 there will be a conjunction of the sun, moon and five planets in the constellation of Aries.
This alignment of planets is "pointing" to Pisces. See "The Witness of the Stars: Pisces."
"While the beginning of a day is dawn, a five-planet conjunction occurring at dawn, with a new moon, and the start of spring would truly be the beginning of all cycles."
(Jet Propulsion Laboratory, July 23, 1995)
Josephus considered the seven lamps upon the candlestick to represent the menorah in the sky. On May 5, 2000 (about 888 days from the last alignment on December 1, 1997?) "the sun, the moon, and the other planets are coming together like on the menorah, right in the middle of Aries (see "The Witness of the Stars: Aries") and Taurus (see "The Witness of the Stars: Taurus"), all together in a massing of the planets, which are right next to Pleiades, the Seven Sisters."
