Isaiah 54:1
JPS 54:1 Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear, Break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail; For more are the children of the desolate Than the children of the married wife, saith the LORD.
TJBU 54:1 Sing, Jerusalem, who was like a barren woman that beareth not; rejoice with praise and be glad, who was like a woman that conceiveth not: for more shall be the children of Jerusalem that was laid desolate, than of the inhabited city, saith the Lord.
 
Isaiah 54:2
JPS 54:2 Enlarge the place of thy tent, And let them stretch forth the curtains of thy habitations, spare not; Lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes.
TJBU 54:2 Enlarge the place of the house of thy dwelling, and from the cities of the land do not keep back the inhabitants; multiply the people of the camp, and increase the number of thy governors.

JPS 54:3 For thou shalt spread abroad on the right hand and on the left; And thy seed shall possess the nations, And make the desolate cities to be inhabited.

Isaiah 54:6
JPS 54:6 For the LORD hath called thee As a wife forsaken and grieved in spirit; And a wife of youth, can she be rejected? Saith thy God.
TJBU 54:6 For as a woman forsaken, and afflicted in spirit, the Shekinah, the Lord, met thee, like a woman of youth which was forsaken, saith thy God.

JPS 54:7 For a small moment have I forsaken thee; But with great compassion will I gather thee.
TJBU 54:7 In a little anger have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I bring together thy captivity.

JPS 54:8 In a little wrath I hid My face from thee for a moment; But with everlasting kindness will I have compassion on thee, Saith the LORD thy Redeemer.
TJBU 54:8 For a little moment I removed the presence of my Shekinah, yea, for a short time from thee, but with everlasting kindness, which shall not cease, will I have mercy on thee, saith the Lord thy Redeemer.
 
Isaiah 54:9
JPS 54:9 For this is as the waters of Noah unto Me; For as I have sworn that the waters of Noah Ahould no more go over the earth, Ao have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, Nor rebuke thee.
TJBU 54:9 This shall be before me as the days of Noah, when I swore by my Word, that the waters of the deluge, which were in the days of Noah, shall no more pass over the earth; thus I swear by my Word, that my anger shall not be hurled upon thee, neither will I reprove thee.
 
Isaiah 54:10
JPS 54:10 For the mountains may depart, And the hills be removed; But My kindness shall not depart from thee, Neither shall My covenant of peace be removed, Saith the LORD that hath compassion on thee.
TJBU 54:10 For .the mountains shall depart, and the hills shall be rent; but my kindness shall not de part from thee, Jerusalem, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord, that will have mercy on thee.

JPS 54:11 O thou afflicted, tossed with tempest, And not comforted, Behold, I will set thy stones in fair colours, And lay thy foundations with sapphires.
TJBU 54:11 O distressed city that receiveth affliction, concerning her the nations say, She shall not be comforted: behold, I lay the stones of thy pavement with Mosaic, and thy foundations with costly stones.

JPS 54:12 And I will make thy pinnacles of rubies, And thy gates of carbuncles, And all thy border of precious stones.

Isaiah 54:15
JPS 54:15 Behold, they may gather together, but not by Me; Whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall because of thee.

JPS 54:16 Behold, I have created the smith That bloweth the fire of coals, And bringeth forth a weapon for his work; And I have created the waster to destroy.

Isaiah 54:17
JPS 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; And every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their due reward from Me, saith the LORD.
