Isaiah 56:1
JPS 56:1 Thus saith the LORD: Keep ye justice, and do righteousness; For My salvation is near to come, And My favour to be revealed.
TJBU 56:1 Thus saith the Lord, keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed.
 
Isaiah 56:2
JPS 56:2 Happy is the man that doeth this, And the son of man that holdeth fast by it: That keepeth the sabbath from profaning it, And keepeth his hand from doing any evil.
TJBU 56:2 Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; every one that shall keep the Sabbath from polluting it, and shall keep his hand from doing any evil.
 
Isaiah 56:3
JPS 56:3 Neither let the alien, That hath joined himself to the LORD, speak, saying: 'The LORD will surely separate me from His people'; Neither let the eunuch say: 'Behold, I am a dry tree.'
TJBU 56:3 Neither let the son of the heathen, that is joined to the people of the Lord, say, The Lord hath utterly separated me from His people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am considered a dry tree.

Isaiah 56:5
JPS 56:5 Even unto them will I give in My house And within My walls a monument and a memorial Better than sons and daughters; I will give them an everlasting memorial, That shall not be cut off.
TJBU 56:5 Even unto them will I give in the house of my sanctuary, and in the land of the house of my Shekinah a place, and a name that is better than that of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name that shall not be cut off.
 
Isaiah 56:6
JPS 56:6 Also the aliens, that join themselves to the LORD, to minister unto Him, And to love the name of the LORD, To be His servants, Every one that keepeth the sabbath from profaning it, And holdeth fast by My covenant:

JPS 56:7 Even them will I bring to My holy mountain, And make them joyful in My house of prayer; Their burnt-offerings and their sacrifices Shall be acceptable upon Mine altar; For My house shall be called A house of prayer for all peoples.

Isaiah 56:8
JPS 56:8 Saith the Lord GOD who gathereth the dispersed of Israel: Yet I will gather others to him, beside those of him that are gathered.
TJBU 56:8 The Lord God, who will gather together the scattered ones of Israel, saith, I will again gather their captivity, by collecting them together.
 
Isaiah 56:9
JPS 56:9 All ye beasts of the field, come to devour, Yea, all ye beasts in the forest.
TJBU 56:9 All the kings of the nations, who are assembled together to oppress thee, Jerusalem, shall be cast down in the midst of thee; they shall be for food to the beasts of the field, the beasts of the forest shall be satisfied with them.
 
Isaiah 56:10
JPS 56:10 His watchmen are all blind, Without knowledge; They are all dumb dogs, They cannot bark; Raving, lying down, loving to slumber.
TJBU 56:10 Their watchmen are blind: they know nothing, all of them are dumb dogs, they are not able to bark, they are slumbering, they lie down, they love to sleep.
 
Isaiah 56:11
JPS 56:11 Yea, the dogs are greedy, They know not when they have enough; And these are shepherds That cannot understand; They all turn to their own way, Each one to his gain, one and all.
TJBU 56:11 Yea, they are greedy dogs, they know not how to be satisfied; they are evildoers, they know not how to become wise: all of them go their own way, to rob the treasures of Israel.
 
Isaiah 56:12
JPS 56:12 'Come ye, I will fetch wine, And we will fill ourselves with strong drink; And to-morrow shall be as this day, And much more abundant.'
TJBU 56:12 Come ye, say they, We will fetch wine, and we will be inebriated with old wine, and to morrow our banquet shall be better than today, great, very great.
