Isaiah 66:1 JPS 66:1 Thus saith the LORD: The heaven is My throne, And the earth is My footstool; Where is the house that ye may build unto Me? And where is the place that may be My resting-place? TJBU 66:1 Thus saith the Lord, the heavens are the throne of my glory, and the earth is a footstool before me: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of the dwelling of my Shekinah? Isaiah 66:2 JPS 66:2 For all these things hath My hand made, And so all these things came to be, Saith the LORD; But on this man will I look, Even on him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, And trembleth at My word. TJBU 66:2 For all these things my power hath made, and have not all these things been? saith the Lord: but it shall be my delight to consider the man, even him who is of an humble and a contrite spirit, and trembleth on account of my word. Isaiah 66:4 JPS 66:4 Even so I will choose their mockings, And will bring their fears upon them; Because when I called, none did answer; When I spoke, they did not hear, But they did that which was evil in Mine eyes, And chose that in which I delighted no TJBU 66:4 I also will desire their destruction, and they shall not be delivered from that which they dread; because, when I sent my prophets, yea, they did not repent; they prophesied, but they obeyed not: but they did evil before me, and they delighted in that I desired not. Isaiah 66:5 JPS 66:5 Hear the word of the LORD, Ye that tremble at His word: Your brethren that hate you, that cast you out for My name's sake, have said: 'Let the LORD be glorified, That we may gaze upon your joy', But they shall be ashamed. Isaiah 66:6 JPS 66:6 Hark! an uproar from the city, Hark! it cometh from the temple, Hark! the LORD rendereth recompense to His enemies. Isaiah 66:7 JPS 66:7 Before she travailed, she brought forth; Before her pain came, She was delivered of a man-child. Is it possible that a country be made in one day, and a nation be created at once? but Zion shall be comforted, and shall be filled with the people of the captivity of her captivity. Isaiah 66:9 JPS 66:9 Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? Saith the LORD; Shall I that cause to bring forth shut the womb? Saith thy God. Isaiah 66:12 JPS 66:12 For thus saith the LORD: Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, And the wealth of the nations like an overflowing stream, And ye shall suck thereof: Ye shall be borne upon the side, And shall be dandled upon the knees. Isaiah 66:15 JPS 66:15 For, behold, the LORD will come in fire, And His chariots shall be like the whirlwind; To render His anger with fury, And His rebuke with flames of fire. Isaiah 66:18 JPS 66:18 For I [know] their works and their thoughts; [the time] cometh, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and shall see My glory. Isaiah 66:19 JPS 66:19 And I will work a sign among them, and I will send such as escape of them unto the nations, to Tarshish, Pul and Lud, that draw the bow, to Tubal and Javan, to the isles afar off, that have not heard My fame, neither have seen My glory; and they shall declare My glory among the nations. Isaiah 66:20 JPS 66:20 And they shall bring all your brethren out of all the nations for an offering unto the LORD, upon horses, and in chariots, and in fitters, and upon mules, and upon swift beasts, to My holy mountain Jerusalem, saith the LORD, as the children of Israel bring their offering in a clean vessel into the house of the LORD.
