GENESIS 2:1 JPS 2:1 And the heaven and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. ONK 2:1 And the heavens and the earth and all their host were completed. PAL 2:6 But a cloud of glory descended from the throne of glory, and was filled with waters from the ocean, and afterward went up from the earth, and gave rain to come down and water all the face of the ground. GENESIS 2:7 JPS 2:7 Then the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. GENESIS 2:15 JPS 2:15 And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. ONK 2:15 And the Lord God took Adam and placed him in the garden of Eden to culture it and keep it. PAL 2:15 And the Lord God took the man from the mountain of worship, where he had been created, and made him dwell in the garden of Eden, to do service in the law, and to keep its commandments. ONK 2:18 And the Lord God said, It is not right that Adam should be solitary; I will make for him a helper as for his sake (or, as suited to him: Hebrew, kenegdo, as his counterpart). PAL 2:18 And the Lord God said, It is not right that Adam should be sleeping alone: I will make unto him a wife who may be a helper before him. JER 2:18 I will make for him a yoke-fellow, going forth with him. GENESIS 2:19 JPS 2:19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto the man to see what he would call them; and whatsoever the man would call every living creature, that was to be the name thereof. ONK 2:19 And the Lord God created from the earth every beast of the field and every fowl of the heavens, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call him; and every (name by) which Adam called the living animal, that was its name. GENESIS 2:22 JPS 2:22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from the man, made He a woman, and brought her unto the man. ONK 2:22 and the Lord God builded the rib which He took from Adam into Woman, and He brought her unto Adam. PAL 2:22 And the Lord God builded the rib which he had taken from Adam into a woman; and He brought her to Adam. GENESIS 2:23 JPS 2:23 And the man said: 'This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.' ONK 2:23 And Adam said, This now (this time) is bone of my bone, and flesh of my flesh: this shall be called Woman, because from her husband this was taken. PAL 2:23 And Adam said, This time, and not again, is woman created from man. Thus, because she is created from me, (she is) bone of my bone, and flesh of my flesh. This it is fit to call Woman, because from man she was taken. GENESIS 2:24 JPS 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife, and they shall be one flesh. ONK 2:24 Therefore shall a man forsake the couch (beth mishkeb, the sleeping-house) of his father and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife, and they shall be of one flesh. PAL 2:24 Therefore a man shall leave, and be separate from the house of the bed of his father and of his mother, and shall consociate with his wife, and both of them shall be one flesh. JER 2:24 Therefore a man shall leave the house of the bed of his father and his mother GENESIS 2:25 JPS 2:25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed. ONK 2:25 And they were both naked, Adam and his wife, and were not ashamed. PAL 2:25 And both of them were wise, Adam and his wife; but they were not faithful (or truthful) in their glory. JER 2:25 And they knew not what is shame.
