This online book differs from the original in the following ways:
1. This is a reproduction of an English translation of Lightfoot's work which originally was in Latin. It is basically a compilation of many editions of the same workLightfoot's Latin edition, Leusden's Latin reprint and Pitman's English translation. Footnotes specifying which edition the information came from are not included as these works are unavailable to most of us and seeing they all reference the same work, we feel they are redundant and add nothing to the narrative. Please see Editor's Introduction for more info.
2. Most Hebrew and Greek words have been omitted except where it is not expressly translated into English. We hope to make this work as accessible to as many people as possible and seeing the average reader will probably not posses the ability to read Hebrew and Greek we feel it is an unnecessary intrusion.
3. Some footnotes have been updated to reflect the commonly accepted spelling and format regarding Talmudic references.
4. All passages of Scripture in bold type are not in the original. We are adding the KJV verses as we find it difficult to follow otherwise.
5. In some instances, we have added links to further clarify an area. These are not in the original and will be placed between brackets in blockquote format.
