Isaiah 43:1
JPS 43:1 But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, And He that formed thee, O Israel: Fear not, for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name, thou art Mine.
TJBU 43:1 But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and He that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not, for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee who art mine by thy name.
 
Isaiah 43:2
JPS 43:2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee, And through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee; When thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned, Neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
TJBU 43:2 For at first when ye did pass the Red sea my Word was your support. Pharaoh and the Egyptians, who were as many as the waters of the river, did not prevail against you. And again, when ye came amongst nations, who were as mighty as fire, they did not prevail against you; and kingdoms, which were strong as a flame, did not destroy you;
 
Isaiah 43:3
JPS 43:3 For I am the LORD thy God, The Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour; I have given Egypt as thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.
TJBU 43:3 Because I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt in ex change for thee, Ethiopia, and Seba, in thy stead.
 
Isaiah 43:4
JPS 43:4 Since thou art precious in My sight, and honourable, And I have loved thee; Therefore will I give men for thee, And peoples for thy life.
TJBU 43:4 Ever since I loved thee, thou wast precious; yea, I loved thee dearly, and I gave nations instead of thee, and kingdoms for thy soul.
 
Isaiah 43:5
JPS 43:5 Fear not, for I am with thee; I will bring thy seed from the east, And gather thee from the west;
TJBU 43:5 Fear not, for my Word shall be thy support; I will bring thy children from the east, I will bring together thy captivity from the west.
 
Isaiah 43:6
JPS 43:6 I will say to the north: 'Give up,' And to the south: 'Keep not back, Bring My sons from far, And My daughters from the end of the earth;
TJBU 43:6 I will say to the north, Bring; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from afar, and the captivity of my people from the ends of the earth.
 
Isaiah 43:7
JPS 43:7 Every one that is called by My name, And whom I have created for My glory, I have formed him, yea, I have made him.'
TJBU 43:7 All these things shall come to pass for the sake of your righteous fathers, upon whom my name was called, yea, for my glory I have created them. I will restore their captivity, yea, I will work wonders for them.
 
Isaiah 43:8
JPS 43:8 The blind people that have eyes shall be brought forth, And the deaf that have ears.

Isaiah 43:9
JPS 43:9 All the nations are gathered together, And the peoples are assembled; Who among them can declare this, And announce to us former things? Let them bring their witnesses, that they may be justified; And let them hear, and say: 'It is truth.'
TJBU 43:9 Let all the nations be gathered together, let the kingdoms be brought together: who among them can declare this, and give us the joyful tidings of old? let them bring forth their wit nesses, that they may be justified; let them hear, and let them speak the truth.
 
Isaiah 43:10
JPS 43:10 Ye are My witnesses, saith the LORD, And My servant whom I have chosen; That ye may know and believe Me, and understand That I am He; Before Me there was no God formed, Neither shall any be after Me.
TJBU 43:10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant, the Messiah, in whom is my delight, in order that ye may know, and that ye may believe in me, and understand that I am He who was from the beginning; yea, ages after ages are mine, and beside me there is no god.

Isaiah 43:12
JPS 43:12 I have declared, and I have saved, And I have announced, And there was no strange god among you; Therefore ye are My witnesses, saith the LORD, and I am God.

Isaiah 43:13
JPS 43:13 Yea, since the day was I am He, and there is none that can deliver out of My hand; I will work, and who can reverse it?
TJBU 43:13 Yea, from eternity I am He; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand: I will do it, and who shall turn it back?

JPS 43:14 Thus saith the LORD, your Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel: For your sake I have sent to Babylon, And I will bring down all of them as fugitives, Even the Chaldeans, in the ships of their shouting.

JPS 43:23 Thou hast not brought Me the small cattle of thy burnt-offerings; Neither hast thou honoured Me with thy sacrifices. I have not burdened thee with a meal-offering, Nor wearied thee with frankincense.
